Q: What is the purpose of this fundraising event?
A: To support the expenses of the Gays and Lesbians in Alcoholics Anonymous (GAL-AA) dance and hospitality suite during the 2020 International AA Convention being held in Detroit in July of 2020.
Q: Can I dress up for the event?
A: Yes, of course! It’s a Motown theme so get as glammed-up as you wish!
Q: Where do I park for the event?
A: There is ample street parking in and around the Motown Mansion located at 918 W Boston Blvd, Detroit, MI 48202. If we reach the 75-100 guest level, we may add a complimentary valet service.
Q: Can non-AAs and allies of the LGBT community attend this event to support the 2020 GAL-AA efforts?
A: Yes, we welcome all that wish to contribute to our efforts. While we are an LGBT organization, we welcome the non-LGBT community to come out and be a part of the fun. Please note that we will be serving only non-alcoholic beverages, providing some specialty drinks just for the occasion.
Q: Will this be a full brunch?
A: It will be a “strolling brunch” with a variety of freshly-prepared selections to satisfy all tastes.
Q: Will there be an opportunity to learn more about the historic Motown Mansion?
A: Yes, there will be guided tours of the property.
Q: Is the Motown Mansion open to the public?
A: No, it is a private residence that is being painstakingly restored by the owner. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see this historic home!
